MTV's 'Punk'd' Moves To BET

BET recently announced they would begin production for the classic hit show "Punk'd" and rebroadcast it on their netwrok.

It's unsure if Asthon Kutcher will be hosting and working behind the camera for the show again, BET will be keep the same concept of the show but will cater to its viewers. Punk'd consisted of Kutcher pranking a list of different celebrities, who were unaware and filmed, including their reactions which was caught on camera.

Punk'd went off the air in 2012 and when BET introduces it back, it will feature behind the scenes look to plug viewers to how the Punk'd process is done, the locations, storyline and etc. BET did not reveal when the show would air, although they confirmed other shows would be making a comeback on their network as well.


Movie News: 'The Equalizer' Will Be Filming A Sequel

Action packed thriller, "The Equalizer" will be filming for another sequel starring Denzel Washington again.

The success of The Equalizer's sales at the box office, dvd and blue ray led to Sony confirming a sequel for the movie. Denzel will be playing his role of vigilance in the character of Robert McCall, with a new storyline and plot. The Equalizer is based on the 1980's TV series, with the same title as the movie.

Antoine Fuqua who directed and worked with Denzel Washington before for the classic movie "Training Day," directed the first Equalizer and Sony did not attest if he will be working behind the cameras for the sequel.


DJ Premier To Produce VH1's Rap Series 'The Breaks'

DJ Premier of the legendary Hip Hop group Gang Starr who goes by the government name, Christopher Edward Martin will be venturing towards a new endeavor as a movie producer.

Already skilled with producing music and creating different elements of sounds, it should be no challenge for DJ Premier to produce and direct VH1's new pilot series, "The Breaks." It's an original movie with a setting in the 90's Hip Hop, of three friends who embark on making it in the music business and tackling the mainstream music in pop. The plot of the movie illustrates the rise of gangsta rap in the 90's and the golden era of Hip Hop.

DJ Premier will also be producing the score for the movie and possibly the soundtrack. The Breaks is based and inspired by Dan Charnas' book, The Big Payback: The History of the Business of Hip-Hop. Seith Mann will be working with DJ Premier to direct and executive produce The Breaks. Filming will begin in June and The Breaks will debut in the fall of 2015.


Ice T Will be Kicking Off 'Art of Rap' Music Festival In July

Ice T recently announced he would be kicking off his own music festival called the "Art of Rap" in California, starting in July.

The festival will begin July 18 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine, California and on July 19 at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Northern California. The Art of Rap festival is hosted by Ice T, featuring 25 different Hip Hop artists from several timeline dating in rap, including break dancers, graffiti artists and their art masterpieces, different venues showcasing fashion and the culture of Hip Hop.

The line up includes legendary Hip Hop artists such as: Afrika Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Rakim, Kool Moe Dee, The Game, Bone Thugs ‘N’ Harmony, Doug E. Fresh, Warren G, Kurtis Blow, EPMD, Xzibit,  Biz Markie, DJ Quik and Slick Rick.


Wiz Khalifa Performs 'See You Again' On The Voice

Wiz Khalifa recently made a guest appearance on The Voice.

Wiz hit the stage with Chris Jamison to perform his Paul Walker tribute song, 'See You Again.' They were joined on stage with a live band and a full choir.

Wale Tops The Chart On Billboard 200 and Moves Over 100K Of His New Album

The soulful, poetic Hip Hop artist, Wale is making something out of his new album "The Album About Nothing."

The album climbed the chart on the Billboard 200 and made it to the top. Previously, Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly" was soaring its wings, holding the top spot. Wale was able to move over 100k in his first week of sales, which gave him the leverage he needed to elevate.


Amy Winehouse Documentary Trailer

In a new docuemtary, Amy Winehouse's legacy is honored and continues to live on.

The film is called "Amy" and was directed by Asif Kapadia and produced by James Gay-Rees. The docuemtary will detail the pivotal moments in Winehouse's life leading to her success and tragic death from alcohol poisoning. The film will debut in the United Kingdon in July and then overseas. 

The movie exhibits Amy Winehouse telling her won story and the struggles she went through to achieve her musical success.

"Singing has always been important to me, but I never thought I’d end up singing or be a singer,” expressed Amy. “I just thought I’m lucky that it’s something I can always do if I want to.”

Tink Interviewed By Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club

Timbaland's prodigy Tink recently stopped by Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club and was interviewed by the crew.

Tink talked about everything from having an old soul for her age, to her music, sisterhood, working with TImbaland, where the name Tink came from, and more.

Tink wants to use her music as a message for the youth especially from Chicago that violence and coming from a drug infested community is not all they have to look forward to, she wants them to know they have the power to change their lives and etc. She embraces being compared to Lauryn Hill but admits that she is her own person, with her own unique creativity.

Wale Conversates With Larry King

Wale appeared on the Larry King Show ans sat down and had a conversation.

While on the show, Wale opened up about the pressures of creating an album from creativity, inspiration, motivation and etc. He spoke about his new album "The Album About Nothing" and opened up about the personal aspects of the album. He talked about being inspired by Jerry Seinfield and their friendship.

Wale opened up about battling his own struggles, dealing with pain, lost and using all of it to creae the album. Wale revealed he wants to become a great writer and stated the Seinfield Show was one of the great comedy shows ever written. During the interview, clips of behind the scenes development of the album was displayed, with Seinfiled guiding Wale about relationships and outlooks in life.

Wale talked about the origin of his name, which s his birth name, he covered some topics about politics and more.

Cheo Hodari Coker To Spearhead Netflix Production Of 'Luke Cage'

The producer of Ray Donovan and NCIS, Cheo Hodari Coker will be working with Netflix on a new upcoming TV series.

The drama series is called "Luke Cage" and Coker will be spearheading the project. Cheo will write the first two episodes and then will link up with other writers. Cheo has a resume for penning the biopic book of Christopher Wallace (Biggie Smalls) "Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of The Notorious B.I.G" and also wrote the movie Notorious.

Luke Cage is a comic book superhero and Hodari will also be working with Disney's Marvel Televison for the project, which is scheduled to premier in 2016.
