Nicki Minaj Reigns Supreme With 'Queen' Album Platinum Certification

Nicki Minaj's "Queen" album is now certified platinum. Although the LP displayed no. 2 on Billboard, the queen reigns supreme as this is her fourth album that has gone platinum. Queen was released in August, consecutive to song drops such as: 'Barbie Tingz,'  'Chun Li (which is platinum certified)' and 'Rich $ex.'

And music videos for the triple platinum 'FEFE' featuring 6ix9ine and 'Ganja Burn.'

Nicki Minaj made her debut in 2010 with the release of Pink Friday. The album plus Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012) and The Pinkprint (2014) have all been certified platinum.

Queen's platinum certification is another milestone for Nicki.

Who currently made history by establishing 99 entries on the Hot 100, the most of any female artist in all music genres. An achievement of her longevity.

Nicki Minaj took to her Instagram to celebrate her landmark attainment in gratitude, thanking all who contributed to the Queen project, thanking her fans and more.

Everybody's favorite girl crush, Rihanna dropped a tutorial to demonstrate the application of Fenty Beauty's 'CHILL OWT' 2018 Holiday collection. The beauty goddess alchemized various CHILL OWT hues and formulated a chilled, mauve tint for her enchanting eyes and lips.

In the tutorial visuals, Riri begins with introducing the product and flexibility of colors in Killawatt Foil eyeshadow palette. Rihanna proceeds with applying a shimmery hue called Stone Cold on her eyelids and paints dramatically but not too much drama as she instructed. She lightens the inner corners of her seductive eyes with Chillz to give a radiant effect and applies Subzero slanted (a blue and purple combination) on the outskirts of her eyes to give a defining look.

Rihanna continues the artistic tutorial with the application of Stone Cold, angled under the lining of her eyes. And then blushes her cheekbones with Scandal Ice, a sparkly soft pink tone. She shimmers some on her upper earlobes, her collarbone and brings out her inner shine. Rihanna is an artist! She completes the tutorial adorning her lips with No Chill icy, pearled metal lipstick.

The Coach Foundation Launches 'Dream It Real' Initiative to Inspire the Next Generation

Coach is a luxurious fashion label known for its leather goods and garments. Employing their platform, the brand launched a new initiative through The Coach Foundation, to campaign inspiration and empowerment for the Next Generation. 

The initiative "Dream It Real" is purposed to assist students in visualizing and envisioning their goals and dreams with empowerment coaching.


In addition, Coach has partnered with The Future Project, a national nonprofit organization that makes it possible for young people to discover their natural abilities, potential; and become competent and build a better future. The partnership developed a project of placing Dream Directors in classrooms across the nation, motivating and directing students to ignite their passion and achieve their dreams. The Dream Directors consist of leaders, coaches and organizers from all walks of life, trained and skilled in The Future Project's campaigned purpose.

Coach has also, donated $1.4 million dollars to The Future Project for its continued effort in mentoring the next generation.

Coach has recruited Selena Gomez

and Michael B. Jordan as ambassadors for the Dream It Real initiative.

Selena Gomez and Michael B. Jordan are tasked to visit schools that are part of The Coach Foundation's Dream It Real campaign and work as honorary Dream Directors. Their mission is implementing the initiative's objectives and exerting their knowledge and wisdom of their experiences towards the students, and generate an energy of optimism.

"Today, we are proud to stand behind a mission to inspire and equip young people to take steps toward finding their passion and purpose."

"Together, our employees and our associates are a community united by our shared desire to achieve our dreams – and to help others achieve theirs," Joshua Schulman, CEO and President of Coach expressed in a news conference.

“Young people have shown us that they are capable of extraordinary things,” asserted Margaret Coady, Executive Director of the Coach Foundation during the news conference.

“We are excited to support and raise awareness of The Future Project’s work at a moment when so many young people are ready to take action on their vision of a better tomorrow, for themselves and for the world.”

New Album Stream: Ella Mai's Debut Self-Titled LP

Debuting her self titled album, Ella Mai unleashed her new project. The anticipated LP adorns Ella Mai's platinum R&B hit 'Boo’d Up.'

Ella Mai recently performed the number one single at the American Music Award.

Other tracks were released from the album such as: 'Trip.' The songstress performed the song on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, on the eve of the album's drop.

Ella Mai is a 15 tracked album, including a bonus song and with guest appearances from: Chris Brown, John Legend and H.E.R.

Cornish College of the Arts Commenced its First African American President

Raymond Tymas-Jones made history when he was instituted as the First African American president, at Cornish College of the Arts.

During his installation ceremony, Raymond Tymas-Jones expressed that music was the cornerstone, in anchoring his consciousness of becoming aware of who he is. And his affiliation with family and etc. through music.

"Very early on in my life, music became the vehicle of personal awareness, as well as a greater sense of being connected with my family and community."

Raymond Tymas-Jones factored in his upbringing and his parents instilling in him: tenacious values, the appreciation of music and being a puzzle piece to a bigger picture which brings fulfillment in one's life.

"I have the good fortune of being the product of parents who instilled in all of their children an appreciation of music and the arts, a love of community, strong personal values, and a belief that in order to have a fulfilling life, being in service to something larger than oneself is essential."

Tymas-Jones also added, his background is what led to his historical accomplishment.

"To becoming the first generation college graduate in my family, and consequently pursue a career in the arts grounded in music."

Raymond Tymas-Jones has an extensive resume and a thirty year experience in higher education. He was the former vice president for arts last year, at the Dean of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Utah. Early in April of this year, when the appointment of Raymond Tymas-Jones was announced, he expressed gratitude.

"I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to join the Cornish College of the Arts’ community as its next President."

And his aim of seeing everybody at Cornish College transcend in their impassioned goals.

"The legacy of Cornish College as a progressive institution, dedicated to preparing artists to fully participate in society as citizens of innovation and creativity, continues. My goal is to ensure that Cornish’s faculty, staff, and students thrive and excel as artists, innovators, and creatives for the express purpose of impacting the artistic and cultural communities of Seattle and beyond."

Raymond Tymas-Jones is currently fulfilling his historical role and paving the way for the next generation.

Colin Kaepernick Honored With Harvard's 'W.E.B. Du Bois' Medal

Former NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick was honored and awarded Harvard's W.E.B. Du Bois Medal. The medal is considered a prestigious award.

"Harvard's highest honor in the field of African and African American studies." 

Presented to esteemed dignitaries for their contributions towards the progression and elevation of melanin people.

"Individuals in the United States and across the globe in recognition of their contributions to African and African American culture and the life of the mind."

The ceremony was streamed live but when Colin Kaepernick took to the stage, his acceptance speech was not recorded at Kaepernick request.

And it was announced for all media recording to cease.

"Due to the current litigation of W.E.B. Du Boss medalist Colin Kaepernick," the stream read, "no press photography or video livestream will be allowed of his remarks."

However, a transcript of Colin Kaepernick speech was released.

In it, Kaepernick emphasized about one's responsibility of power, position and privilege in utilizing it as a stepping stone to inspire and empower their communities.

"I feel like it's not only my responsibility, but all our responsibilities as people that are in positions of privilege, in positions of power, to continue to fight for them and uplift them, empower them."

Kaepernick continued his speech, reflecting on an experience that inspired him to take responsibility and make a difference. Colin Kaepernick begin taking a knee during NFL games, to protest against police brutality and injustice. This was in 2016 and it led to Colin filing a collusion grievance against the NFL and Kaepernick being a free agent.

Colin Kaepernick is one of eight recipients that was bestowed the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal by Harvard University. Comedian Dave Chappelle (pictured below) and artist Kehinde Wiley are among the recipients.

Including: chairman and a managing director of General Catalyst - Kenneth Chenault, psychologist and author - Florence Ladd, president of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - Ann Jackson, founder of Avid Partners, LLC - Pamela Joyner; and founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative - Bryan Stevenson.

Ryan Coogler Signs Deal to Write and Direct 'Black Panther' Sequel

As Ryan Coogler signed a deal to write and direct the sequel to Black Panther. Imparted by The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive article.

"Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the filmmaker behind Marvel’s landmark Black Panther has quietly closed a deal to write and direct the sequel."

Black Panther was a blockbuster hit and grossed over $1.3 billion globally. The storyline inspirited the Marvel comic book character T'Challa, who is king of Wakanda. In the film, T'Challa takes his throne as his father's successor and encounters several trials and tribulations along his journey as king. One of them was Erik Killmonger played by Michael B.Jordan.

There's been conversations and inquisitions about a Black Panther 2. It was speculated that Ryan Coogler would direct the sequel.

"In the weeks prior and after the film’s February release, both Marvel and Coogler’s camp were hounded about when a sequel deal would be inked"

Disclosed and reported by THR, Coogler is indeed directing and penning the next chapter of Black Panther. Ryan Coogler was patient and took his time with closing a deal for the sequence to Black Panther.

"Typically, a filmmaker is more than willing to quickly sign on for a follow-up, and a studio is eager to snap up a key piece of talent in the lead-up to or right after a successful opening. But Coogler’s camp shook off the peer pressure and took its time in making a deal, which occurred under the radar some time ago."

Production for the film is set to begin between 2019 and 2020.

In the meantime, Ryan Coogler is advancing developments for a new flick called Wrong Answer with Michael B. Jordan. Coogler also, wrote the upcoming Creed II movie. Collaborated with LeBron James, as the executive producer for Space Jam's epilogue.

Michelle Obama Launches "Global Girls Alliance" to Empower & Educate Girls

During a live taping on the Today show celebrating "International Day of the Girl," former First Lady, Michelle Obama announced the launching of "Global Girls Alliance," a philanthropic initiative to empower and educate girls worldwide. 

"Seeking to empower adolescent girls around the world through education."

The Global Girls Alliance purpose is to structure and support over 1,500 organizations in contending and minimizing challenging issues girls encounter in their communities. Which affects their education.

"We want to lift up the grassroots leaders in communities all over the world who are clearing away the hurdles that too many girls face."

The initiative will factor social fundraising to assist girls.

"When you educate a girl, you educate a family, a community, a country."

During her announcement, Michelle Obama continued, to express the importance of educating girls and how imperative it is.

"It makes no sense that girls and women are not getting educated, that they’re not in school. If we care about climate change, if we care about poverty, if we care about maternal child health, then we have to care about education."

Relating as a mom with two girls, pertaining to the hosts of Today's show Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie who also mothered girls, Michelle Obama conveyed about the passion that exist in girls, and bringing it out through education and network.

"You know even now at this young age that there is something burning in them that is dying to get out. Well, that is true for millions of girls around the country and they are battling through misperceptions, violence, stigma to get their way into a classroom. And many of them don’t have access to a classroom, so we want to play a role in building an alliance of young people who are out there doing the work on the ground. And we want to give them an opportunity to network with one another because working on these issues out in the world can be lonely."

The Global Girls Alliance initiative is part of the The Obama Foundation humanitarianism effort to create a better world.

In launching the program partnering with GoFundMe, Michelle Obama showcased a video presenting Global Girls Alliance featuring herself and four girls representing different parts of the world. Soundtrack by Aretha Franklin's 'Think.'

Michelle Obama maintained her leadership role and voice, to make a difference with woman issues, education as a whole and politics with voters registration. With this announcement, Michelle Obama is gearing up for abook tour to promote her new memoir "Becoming."

50 Cent Inks Multi-Series Deal with Starz

Getting his shine on, 50 Cent inked a multi-series deal with Starz, estimating to $150 million dollars.

In "Power" Season 5, 50 Cent killed off his character Kanan and this is the rebirth. Sourcing an exclusive article from Variety, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson secured the bag furthering his business relationship and alliance with Starz.

The multi-series deal with Starz entails a four year commitment and the development of newly scripted and unscripted ventures, spearheaded by 50 Cent's  G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. In addition, the agreement also consist of a three-series commitment as reported by Variety below.

"The deal represents a significant increase to Starz’s investment in Jackson, executive producer of drama series "Power." It includes a three-series commitment, the addition of a dedicated development executive, and a discretionary fund for use in developing G-Unit projects."

Facilitating his G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. and his role as an executive producer, Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson is now the eye behind the camera as a director for Power Season 6.

Combining his street smarts and experience as a former OG, along with his acumen of being agile in a boardroom, 50 Cent proposed his initial vision and plans for Starz.

"When I sat down with Chris [Albrecht, Starz CEO] and walked him through my plans for G-Unit Film & Television going forward, he let me know I was essentially requesting the biggest deal in premium cable history,” Jackson said. “I am excited to announce that we’ve made that partnership between myself, G-Unit Film & Television and Starz/Lionsgate and we will continue our proven track record of breaking records and delivering unique content for audiences around the world … Get The Strap."

His acquisition with Starz, provides Curtis Jackson to scale all platforms managed by Starz and general input of distribution and authorization of G-Unit Film & Television, Inc label and its content, disclosed by Variety below.

"The agreement provides Jackson and G-Unit access to the full breadth of platforms operated by Starz and its corporate parent Lionsgate. It also gives Jackson input into the merchandising and licensing of brands and content developed by G-Unit."

Starz CEO, Chris Albrecht corresponded about the multi-series deal, expressing his satisfaction with 50 Cent and what he brings to the table.

"Both on screen and off, Curtis has proven that he can deliver content that our viewers want to watch. He is the real deal, and we have given him a real deal, with what I believe to be among the most significant deals to date for an Executive Producer in premium television. We’re pleased to expand our relationship and consider this the beginning of many new and exciting ventures to come."

50 Cent and Starz are currently developing "Black Mafia Family" (B.M.F) project, inspired by the Big Meech autobiography and "Vanguard," a storyline of an ex-Navy seal coming to terms with the genesis of his gangsta and keeping it G with some drug cartels.

T.I. liberated his anticipated album 'Dime Trap' a week ago. The project is Tip's 10th LP and a follow up from his 2014 album, Paperwork. In 2015, T.I. announced a new album in the works which was delayed

Making the most of the situation, T.I. continued to work on the album and recorded over a 100 songs that were narrowed to the 15 tracked Dime Trap LP.

Dime Trap serves as a significant representation of T.I.'s contributions, to the culture of Hip Hop and trap music.

The album begins with a soulful, gospel joint titled 'Seasons' featuring Sam Hook. Tip flows a capella and then, the instrumentals proceed. In 'Laugh At Em,' T.I. drops verses about police brutality and gets political. Reminiscing, on his early block huggin' days and moving that white.

"Swear to God I coulda been Freddie Gray/Or Mike Brown, getting shot down/With a pistol on me and half a brick of yay."

Next is 'Big Ol Drip' of Tip reflecting on his upbringing, the odds he had to face to even the score and win. And what led him to a life of trappin', instead of being trapped by the issues in the hood. Tip links with Yo Gotti in the smooth and hypnotic banger, 'Wraith.'
