Zambia Elects & Appoints Their First Woman Vice President, Inonge Wina

In other parts of the world, Zambia made history by electing and appointing their first woman vice president. Hmmm, is America ready for a woman vice president? You know the answer to that. Anyways, let's get to the story.

Zambia in Southern Africa, elected their first woman vice president. Inonge Wina was appointed by President Edgar Lungu, after serving as the national chairwoman of Lungu's Patriotic Front. The 73 year old displayed that it is never too late to achieve in life and be all you can be, when she took the political position as the highest ranking woman ever. Being a pillar in the community, Inonge Wina always been active in working towards the enhancement of her community and is an activist for women rights. She developed a support group in Zambia to help injured police officers and their families.

One of the challenges, Inonge Wina will face as vice president is working with President Lungu, to improve the conditions of economics in Zambia. Wina will also assist the president, in revising policies for food and fuel supply in Zambia.



Gap Announces The Shut Down of Their Piperlime Brand

I bet you're like huh? Piperlime what? Who? Yeah, you probably never heard of it, unless you are a hardcore online shopper. Anyways, let's get to the story.

Gap as we all know is a big company, that has a sub brand called "Piperlime" which is available online, and opened a store in Manhattan, New York in 2012. Piperlime offers luxury products, designer brands and items at a fraction of their original prices. If something was sold out in other stores, you could find it on Piperlime.

Piperlime also has other store entities connected to it such as: Gap of course, Old Navy, Banana Republic and etc.

Gap announced they will be shutting down Piperlime at the end of February. Gap stated they will be focusing on expanding their five brands: Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta and Intermix, on a digital and global growth. Gap did not really express why they were shutting down Piperlime but revealed plans for enlarging revenues within their five brands. In a statement below, Gap thanked their customers who shopped with Piperlime and expressed how they wanted to tackle on new ideas for their comapny.

“We are incredibly grateful to our fashion-focused, loyal customers, and proud of our dedicated employees who have been working hard to evolve the brand and test out new ideas.”

Gap continued to express how they plan on emerging their company based on new ideas.

“We plan to keep on pushing new ideas and look forward to seeing how we can apply what we’ve learned to the rest of the company as we continue to bring great products and shopping experiences to our customers.”

Gap ensured customers can continue to shop with Piperlime, how it will be offering sales and will shipping out any orders after Piperlime is closed online, and at their Manhattan store at the end of February.


Cablevision Launches Unlimited Wifi Mobile Plan in New York

New York tri-state area cable and broadband provider, Cablevision has announced a new service plan yesterday January 26, 2015, according to the 'Wall Street Journal' called "Freewheel." The details of Freewheel are: unlimited talk, text, and data via ordinary wifi. Existing Cablevision subscribers can add it to their bills for $9.95 a month, or customers who don’t use Cablevision at home can get it for $29.95 per month.

Cablevision will also be creating a second hotspot network linked to subscriber's home routers, which will contribute to the company's 1.1 million hotpots in New York.

Cablevision's Freewheel plan will make use of other company's wifi like Comcast and etc. The plan will initially start offering their services to customers, who have Motorola Moto G which will be sold by Cablevision for $100. The phone will come with an app that allows it to automatically connect to any Cabelvision wifi. The phone will also let customers automatically connect to wifi at airports and etc.

Cablevision stated the use of wifi is growing and how people are using their phones more for business purposes, such as: to check emails, wire money to accounts, conduct meetings through Facetime and other available apps, and etc. Cablevision will be extending their Freewheel plan on other phones as well.
