You finally hook up on a date with the man or woman you've been crushing on. First impression is everything and they did that. So, far the date is going fine but then it takes a left turn. Sometimes, the first impression ends up being the last.
How can we forget that memorable dating scene from the movie Daddy's Little Girls of Julia played by Gabrille Union. The storyline was Julia's friends convinve her of a date which they set up for her. Upon meeting this man, Julia knew he was not the one. But she remained and tried to endure the date. Julia's date Bryon played by Craig Phillip Robinson who is a comedian in real life, exhibited the funny character of '40 Percent.' The whole scene was hilarious of 40 Percent kicking a rhyme to Julia, lacking dining etiquette and had the nerve to call shrimps, skrimps.
So, this is where I am going to pick up on about the rules of dating and how it can add or subract points on a date. You can either turn the person on or turn them off. In the above scene, 40 Percent is just out there, he doesn't care, his dining at some fancy restaurant that can be called Le Château and all he's thinking about is chinese food. He has on a bright blue Easter suit, goes on to tell Julia what he would do with her lips and seems to be full of himself about his wood game. Then he starts screaming for the waiter. Instead of it being a dream date, it was a nightmare for Julia.
It's obvious this character 40 Percent most likely broke all the rules. Should it really be called rules because in reality there are no rules when it comes to love. When two people are on a date, it is important to take into consideration of being on your best behavior and still keep it real of who you are. There's a time and place for everything. You can't wear a suit to go farming. Also, don't try to be somebody else or put on act of who you're not and if somebody is already lying on the first date then the seed of that relationship is all based on lies and won't be a fruitful one. But anyhow, there's overall and general etiquettes when it comes to dating: from table manners, to use of language, saying too much or revealing too much and; not leaving enough space for mystery and for the person to get to know you.
And let's not forget about the phones and using phones while on a date, which can appear to be rude or disrespectful to the other person. The lack of interaction shows lack of interest and can also cause the date to be boring. After the date, now she's on her phone telling all her friends about it.
How can all of this be avoided? To make dating interesting, fun, interactive and a memorable one that leaves a person mesmerized after it. Besides overall etiquette and consideration, personality goes a long way.
Telling a joke and making the other person laugh, plants a seed of joy in their heart and blooms into a smile. It's all about creating an atmosphere that's inviting, momentous, intriguing; and impressive enough for the person to want to date you again.
